Better Sleep
Dear Dr. Windle,
Thank you for suggesting the TAP appliance for my snoring and sleep apnea. I am MORE than satisfied with the product...I am overjoyed! Please allow me to explain...
I have suffered from sleep apnea my entire life and never knew what a good nights sleep felt like. As a child, although very bright, I was easily distracted and compulsive, so I was never able to get consistently good grades. (If it had existed at the time, I'm sure I would have been diagnosed with A.D.D., although I was most likely just overtired from lack of restful sleep.)
When I was in high school, my snoring was so loud that on an overnight field trip, I woke my classmates. Naturally, they tape recorded my snoring and ridiculed me the next day.
As an adult, my snoring was such a problem that it affected my marriage. I tried, nose strips, drops, losing weight, different pillows, other oral appliances, nothing seemed to work. My wife resigned herself to wearing uncomfortable ear plugs and was scared to death that I would stop breathing and die in the middle of the night because she wasn't able to keep shaking me to breath. My apnea was so bad that 5 hours of sleep felt MUCH better than 8 hours because it was 3 hours less that my body was struggling to breath.
Later on in the 90's, I had a sleep study at the Medical Center and a patient two rooms down had to have their study rescheduled because my snoring interrupted her sleep.
Ten years after my first sleep study, I was ordered to have another one to obtain a C-PAP machine. Now, in my mid-40's I was concerned about the apnea weakening my heart and affecting my health. In addition, my work and private life continued to suffer from my lack of concentration all these years.
For the first time in my life, I got a good nights rest with the C-PAP, and although it was cumbersome, a lot of maintenance and not very sexy, I thought it was worth it. Unfortunately, after some time, my mouth began to pop open in the middle of the night, and the C-PAP became ineffective. I was back to square one.
Finally, I tried the TAP and I only regret I didn't try it sooner!
The TAP has eliminated my snoring. Allows me a full nights rest. It has been very easy for me to get comfortable with the appliance (especially compared to the C-PAP machine). Keeping the appliance clean is quick and easy. It's also very natural and easy to slip into my mouth when I'm ready to sleep, without disturbing and making an event of seperating from my partner for the night, like I had to do with the C-PAP. I also can't believe that my insurance practically paid for it all!
This is the closest I have ever been to having a normal sleep life in my entire life!
Thank you so much for suggesting it. It's been wonderful!
Best regards,
Ernesto
Dear Dr. Windle ,
I am happy to report that the TAP Appliance has been most beneficial to me. I have had success with a cessation of snoring and required less sleep but feel well rested. I would recommend this appliance to anyone who is unable to tolerate the bi-pap or c-pap machines. It is so much more comfortable. Thanks to you and your staff for making it such a positive experience.
Sincerely,
Nancy T.
Dear Dr. Windle,
In November I was put on a C-Pap Machine. I had many problems with it. I did not receive one good night sleep and it had to be adjusted several times. I hated it and never was able to use it for a full night sleep. I took my granddaughter to the dentist office at Dr. Windle's for a routine checkup. I was in the waiting room when I saw this pamphlet concerning Sleep solutions (TAP). I never heard of anything like it, so I made an appointment for June 4, 2011. Worked with Dr. Windle and received my TAP on June 28, 2011. Went on a fourteen day vacation on July 2nd, and never had a bit of trouble, sleeping well every night, even on my vacation.
Love it!!!!!! Love it!!!!!
Roberta
